Shawn Gentry

 Shawn Gentry, age 51,  passed away at his home Wednesday, September 4, 2024, in Sumrall.  Saulters Moore Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Shawn was born on August 13, 1973 in Hattiesburg, MS.  A lifelong resident of Jefferson Davis County, he was a graduate of Prentiss High School.

Shawn dedicated much of his life to the field of electronics and had a remarkable talent for installing car stereo systems that earned him the respect and admiration of many.  His career included several years at Firestone and The Alarm Company, where he utilized his extensive knowledge and expertise to serve clients and perfect his craft.

An avid hobbyist, Shawn found joy in assembling model cars since the days of his youth.  Over the years, he compiled a collection of his works of art, reflecting his meticulous nature and creative spirit.  Additionally, he also enjoyed attending car shows, where he could share his passion for automobiles with fellow enthusiasts.

Shawn embraced life with a warm heart and an unwavering commitment to his loved ones.  He was always willing to lend a helping hand to friends, constantly demonstrating his generous spirit.  Above all, Shawn adored his children and grandchildren.  He was of the Baptist faith.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Sharon Bullock and his maternal grandparents, Lee and Arlene Gentry.

Shawn leaves behind 2 daughters, Kirsten Hill (Chris) of Ellisville, Ashli Marie Gentry of Alexandria, LA;  his son, Ashton Matthew Gentry of Alexandria, LA;  his sister, Ashley Diaz (Hermes) of Altha, FL and his brother, Danny Gentry (Charity) of Prentiss.  He also leaves behind 2 granddaughters whom were the sunshine of his life, Zayleigh Gentry and Nova Hill.
