Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Hugh White will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Saulters Moore Funeral Chapel with the Reverend Marcus Burnham officiating. Interment will follow in the Dublin Cemetery. Mr. White, age 79, entered into the eternal rest of his Lord late Friday evening, April 4, 2025, at his home in Prentiss. Saulters Moore Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

The family will receive friends 2 hours before the funeral service on Wednesday, beginning at Noon at Saulters Moore Funeral Home.

James McLendon, Michael McLendon, Timothy McLendon, BJ McLendon, James Eric Hunt, and Wayne White will honor Mr. White by serving as pallbearers. Ryland McLendon will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

A lifelong resident of Jefferson Davis County, Thomas Hugh White was born on December 14, 1945, to Joseph D. and Edna Mae Shoemake White. As a mechanic throughout his life, Thomas earned a reputation as a master mechanic and was known for his expertise in building transmissions. His hands were not just tools; they were extensions of his dedication and skill, enabling him to tackle even the most challenging mechanical issues. His customers respected his knowledge and ability, putting him in great demand for many years in the Prentiss area.

In his younger days, Thomas found joy and excitement in dirt track racing, a passion that connected him with the thrill of speed and competition. In his later years, he found enjoyment in working his cows and tending his garden. Mr. White was a member of Dublin Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Myrtis White; brothers, Jimmy Earl White and Charles White; and sister, Peggy Holloway.

His memory will forever be cherished by his daughter, Debra Mixon (Jackie) of Franklinton, LA; sons, Charles White (Sheila) and Robert McLendon (Sheila), both of Prentiss; sisters, Juanita McNease of Prentiss and Catherine Davis (James) of Seminary.  Mr. White also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
