Shirley Kirkley

Funeral Services for Mrs. Shirley Besson Kirkley, of Collins and a native of Grand Isle, LA,  will be conducted Saturday, January 20,2024 at 2:00 PM at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow in Lone Star Cemetery.  Brother Lon Keen will officiate, assisted by Brother Hunter Keen.  Mrs. Kirkley, age 78, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at the South Central Medical Center in Laurel.  Saulters Moore Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 20, 2024 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM at Saulters Moore Funeral Home.

 Shirley Besson Kirkley was born on March 8, 1945 in Golden Meadow, LA to Hilton and Irene Chighizola Besson.   In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kirkley is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Kirkley; her son, Robert Keath Kirkley; brothers, Ralph Beeson Ted Besson, Jerry Besson and her sisters, Judy Besson and Wendy Besson Chouest.

She is survived by her children Barry (Myra) Kirkley, Rachel (Jeremy) Kirkley, Beverly Kirkley (Mike) Arant; brothers, Danny Besson, Wallace Besson, Linsey Besson; her sister, Tammy Besson Moran; grandsons, Trevor (Kasey) Kirkley, Kyle Arant and her great-grandchildren, Reagan, Kasen and Rilyn Kirkley.
