Dr. Shirley Jean Johnson

Dr. Shirley Jean Johnson PBH, age 63, departed this life on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at her residence in New Hebron, MS. She was born on November 21, 1957 to Daniel Glenn and Bonnie McCaffrey Potter. Shirley worked many years as a nurse before earning her Masters degree and ultimately her PhD in mental health. In addition to being an artist, she was also an avid reader who loved novels, especially those authored from Mississippians. Two of her favorite were John Grisham and Greg Iles. True to her love for books, Shirley went on to author her own book, "New Orleans Style", which is available through Amazon. She was a member of North Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in New Hebron. Mrs. Johnson was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Glenn Potter; a son, Charles Damian Johnson (1978) and a daughter, Charlotte Rae Johnson (2005). Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 46 years, Roy Johnson of New Hebron, MS; 1 Son, Christopher Johnson of New Hebron, MS; 1 sister, Cindy Morris of Meridan; 2 brothers, Danny Potter of Flippin, AR and Robert Moore of Hernando, MS.
