Funeral services for Sherry Lynn Benson McCardle will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 5, 2021 at Saulters-Moore Funeral Home Chapel. Sherry, age 58, passed away from this life on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Magee General Hospital. Reverend Kent Yarbrough will officiate and Mr. Carroll Berry will speak. Interment will follow at Stonewall Cemetery in Pinola. Saulters-Moore Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Kenny Russell, Kade Jones, Danny Jones, John Amory Darden, Craig Priest and Jayden Priest. Sherry Lynn Benson McCardle was born on December 10, 1962 in Lawrence County, MS to John Paul Benson, Sr. and Ora Mae Russell Benson. Sherry was the restaurant manager at Berry's Seafood in Magee for many years. She loved fast cars, especially Corvettes. Sherry was very loved by all who knew her, “Mama” to many. She was a member of the Stonewall Baptist Church. Sherry was preceded in death by her mother and father. She is survived by her brother, John Paul Benson, Jr. of New Hebron; 5 step-sisters, Melva Davis of Bay St. Louis, Linda Wilborn of Pace, FL, Anita Craft of Mize, Sherry Darden of Mize, Suzanne Clark of Gulfport; 2 step-brothers, Ronnie Holyfield of Mendenhall and Kevin Holyfield of Byram; 1 aunt, Sherry Cherry of Pinola; 2 best friends, Robert McCardle of Hazlehurst and Cindy Bryan of New Hebron.
