Russell was born on August 5, 1959, grew up in the Whitesand Community and attended school at Prentiss.  He began working in the Oil and Gas Industry in 1987 and spent over 37 years devoting himself to the profession that he absolutely loved.  Russell embarked on his career journey alongside Tim Buckley at B&P Swabbing, coming full circle by concluding his career with the same mentor.
Russell cherished his family above all else. He shared a deep bond with his precious wife, Mary, and together they created countless joyful memories exploring different camping sites abroad and indulging in his favorite hobby of Bass fishing.
Russell's proudest accomplishments were not defined by professional milestones but by the love and care he showered upon his family. Often compared to a compass, Russell guided his family with unwavering support and affection. His devotion to Mary was evident to all who knew him, as he strived to be an exceptional provider and protector for his loved ones. Moreover, Russell took immense pride in instilling values of responsibility and perseverance in his children, fostering an environment where they could learn and thrive from life's challenges.
Russell Coulter is a shining example that good men still exist; his kindness, wisdom, and dedication will forever resonate in the lives he touched.
Mr. Coulter is preceded in death by his mother, Maggie Lou Coulter and his sister, Pattie Carol Coulter.
His memory will forever be cherished by his beloved wife of 46 years, Mary Coulter of Carson; his daughter, Jessica Coulter Andrews (Joe) of Braxton; his son, Lance Coulter (Megan) of Watford City, ND; and a brother, Ronald Jones of Prentiss.  The legacy of their Pawpaw will also live on through his grandchildren, Anna Coulter, Karlee Bolin, Wyatt Andrews, Kolten Bolin, Maci Coulter, Josie Coulter and Lennie Lou Andrews.
