Rebecca Hewitt Suthoff, a beloved mother, devoted friend, and passionate sports fan was born in Jackson, Mississippi. Rebecca was known for her vibrant spirit and her refusal to disclose her birth year—because a Southern lady never tells her age. Her greatest joys were her daughter, Courtney Suthoff, her love of her mom, Myrtle, and her beloved home state of Mississippi. Her family was her world, and she cherished time spent with them. An avid supporter of Mississippi State and Ole Miss football, Rebecca’s enthusiasm for sports was matched only by her love for the Olympics, where she found inspiration in the triumphs of American athletes. An animal lover at heart, Rebecca had a special fondness for special pets in life including Dalee and Elizabeth. She also loved horses and enjoyed attending horse shows with Courtney, where she reveled in the beauty and grace of these magnificent creatures. She also had a deep appreciation for the natural world, often finding peace and joy along the ocean’s shores, collecting seashells as treasured mementos of her adventures. Rebecca is survived by her beloved daughter, Courtney, her son-in-law, Wayne, and many cherished members of the Hewitt and Hatton families. She will be remembered for her warmth, laughter, and the love she shared with all who knew her. In celebration of her life, family and friends are invited to honor Rebecca’s memory; reflecting on the joy she brought to each of them.
