Rachel Polk Broome

Funeral services for Rachel Polk Broome will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Saulters Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Broome, age 77, passed away from this life on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at her residence in Prentiss, MS.  Reverend Dr. Roland McMillan will officiate.  Interment will follow at the McPhail Cemetery in Carson, MS.   Pallbearers will be; Collins Barnes, Patrick Barnes, Connor Barnes, Barrett Barnes, Brady Barnes and Jacob Thompson.  Honorary pallbearer will be Joseph Thompson.   Saulters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.   Rachel Polk Broome was born January 17, 1942 in Prentiss, MS to Reese Edward Polk and Mary Idella Kelly Polk. Mrs. Broome was a nurse in the medical field. She was a member of Prentiss Baptist Church.   She was preceded in death by her mother and father; husbands, Leffie John Barnes, II and Harmon Broome; and 1 son, Cary Todd Broome.   Mrs. Broome is survived by 3 sons, Kelly Barnes (Tina) of Mendenhall, Shelly Barnes (Van) of Prentiss and Johnny Barnes (Robbie) of Decatur, AL; 1 daughter, Debra Broome Mullins (Anthony) of Hattiesburg; 1 daughter-in-law, Sonja Broome of Prentiss; 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.   Visitation will be Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM before the service at Saulters Funeral Home.   Online condolences and a guest registry are available at www.saultersmoorefuneralhome.com
