Funeral services for Mrs. Patsy Lou Myers will be conducted at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 24, 2022, at New Hebron Baptist Church with interment following in New Hebron Cemetery. Reverend Mike Grenn will officiate. Mrs. Myers, age 89, entered into the eternal rest of her Lord at her residence in Silver Creek, MS Sunday evening, March 20, 2022. Mrs. Patsy Lou Myers was born on October 16, 1932, in Sicily Island, LA to Jesse J. and Pinkie Smith Felter. Known as the "Quilting Queen of Lawrence County", creating beautiful quilts was iconic of Mrs. Myers. In former years, she owned a quilting shop in New Orleans and enjoyed attending quilting seminars and conferences. Creative and meticulous, she not only enjoyed quilting herself, but also instilled the joy of quilting in her friends and also hosted many quilting retreats in her home. Mrs. Myers continued a quilting group at New Hebron Baptist Church, enjoying many hours of laughter, conversation and fellowship as the ladies transformed thread, fabric and batting into timeless works of art. It was with many of these same ladies that afternoons were passed at Mrs. Myers' home enjoying conversation over a good cup of coffee. In addition to gardening, Mrs. Myers also collected recipes, cookbooks, and will be remembered for the Cornbread Cake that she made for family gatherings and church dinners. She was a faithful member of New Hebron Baptist Church. Serving as Pallbearers are Porky Stephens, Keith Sills, Barry McCool, Scott Bryan, Bobby Lee and Larry Hamil. Honorary Pallbearers include the Myron Lee Sunday School Class, Geoffery Durbin and Robert Cox. Mrs. Myers was preceded in death by her husband, J.C. Myers, her parents, Jesse and Pinkie Felter, a sister, Evelyn Morgan and 2 brothers, Jesse J. "Buck" Felter and Lester Felter. Her memory will forever be cherished by her daughter, Linda Myers Cox (Robert) of Silver Creek. The legacy of their Mawmaw will also live on through her granddaughters, Rachel Dianne Cox and Catherine Cox Durbin as well as 2 great-grandsons. The family will receive friends Thursday morning, March 24, 2022, from 10:00 AM until the hour of service at 11:00 AM at New Hebron Baptist Church.
