UPDATE:

THE MEMORIAL GRAVESIDE SERVICE FOR NICHOLAS WILL BE HELD AT 10:30AM SATURDAY, AUGUST 31, AT NEW HEBRON CEMETERY.

With a heavy heart, we announce that Nicholas Stewart Newsom (Nick) our most beloved son, brother, uncle and friend passed on Sunday, August 4, 2024.  Saulters Moore Funeral Home has been entrusted with local arrangements.

There will be a celebration of life honoring Nick at 4PM on Saturday, August 17,2024, at The Craftsmen's Guild of Mississippi in Ridgeland, MS.

Nick was born on December 27, 1989, in Jackson, MS. He attended First Presbyterian elementary school and graduated high school from Simpson County Academy. Nick received an associate's degree in Electrical Technology from Hinds Community College. He was employed at the WillScot Corp in Jackson, MS where he was a valued employee who helped the local office achieve top ranking several years in a row.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, John B, III and Mildred Newsom and Joseph and Mary Holliday.

Those who knew Nick, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives.  Nick will be missed everyday by his mother, Mary Kay Holliday; his father and stepmother, John B, IV (Buddy) and Sharon Newsom; his brother, who was also his best friend, John B Newsom, V and wife Amanda; his nieces Mya and Ainsley and his nephew, Ethan; also, his loving aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many great friends.  Nick loved being outdoors, especially if it had anything to do with fishing alongside his brother and father. He was a weekend musician who loved playing the guitar in jam sessions with local musicians and attending concerts with hismany friends. He loved cooking alongside his mother and eating her home cooked meals, gathering around a table to fellowship with the ones he loved.  He always greeted people with the biggest hug; his dimpled face smiling ear-to-ear like he could barely contain the love he had for each and every one of us. He would leave people with the same warmth he met them with - always remembering to say, "I love you".
