Mim W. Lee, Sr.

Graveside services for Mr. Mim Wallace Lee,will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday morning, September 9, 2023, at Springhill Cemetery in Shivers with the Reverend Mike Grenn officiating.  Mr. Lee, age 88, entered into the eternal rest of his Lord Wednesday afternoon, September 6, 2023, at the Simpson General Hospital in Mendenhall.  Saulters Moore Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

Mr. Lee will be carried to his final rest by his grandsons and great-grandsons; Hunter Sutton, Patrick Sutton, Christopher McCloud, Andy Sutton, Josh McFarland, Matthew Fox, Brason Fox, Cayden McFarland, Colton Sutton and Finnley Sutton.  

Family and friends will gather at Springhill Cemetery Saturday at 10:30 AM, 30 minutes prior to the graveside service.

Mim was born on February 19, 1935 in Simpson County to William Houston and Lela Berry Lee. Raised in the Shivers Community, he was no stranger to hard work.  Mim loved to reminisce about days gone by when he and his Dad would work in the fields from daylight until dark...and he loved every minute of it.  He would go on to work as a cook at the Mississippi State Hospital at Whitfield and while there, he met his lovely bride, Pearl, who also worked at the hospital as a nurse.  After their marriage, the couple settled in Shivers and Mim cut the timber off his land and pulled the logs out with a mule with which to build the house where he and Pearl would raise their family.   He worked and retired from the Mississippi State Highway Department.  An avid outdoorsman, Mim truly loved hunting, working with his livestock and sitting on his porch visiting with his family. In his earlier years, he loved to get his friends together and sit around and listen to a good fox race on Saturday night.  His family remarks that in his later years, he even built a pond on his homeplace so that he could fish whenever he got ready.  Mr. Lee was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in the Bridgeport Community.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Lee was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Pearl in 2015 and his siblings Helen Leach, Hilda Kersh, Evelyn Lee and Jewel Sherman.

His memory will forever be cherished by his daughters, Kathy Sutton (Pat) of Pearl, Jeanine McCloud (Randy) of New Hebron and his son, Mim Wallace "Wally" Lee (Misty) of Shivers.  The legacy of their Pawpaw Mim will also live on through his grandchildren, Andy Sutton, Christopher McCloud, Christy Fox, Megan McFarland, Patrick Sutton and his great-grandchildren, Hunter Sutton, Brason Fox, Molli Sutton, Cayden McFarland, Natalie Sutton, Colton Sutton, Randi Fox, Lillie McFarland, Finnley Sutton and Denver Sutton.
