Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Katherine Slocum will be held at 3:00 pm Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at the Calvary Baptist Church in Silver Creek. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Slocum entered into the eternal rest of her Lord, Saturday morning, March 11,2023 at the Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center in McComb, MS. Saulters Moore Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Anthony Rogers, Brad McSwain, Blain Rogers, Jance Dunaway, Dylan Slocum and Drake Slocum. Honorary bearer is Gary Bass. Mary Katherine Slocum was born August 10,1939 in Lawrence County, MS to Homer Nelson and Mary Lou Sills Nelson. Mrs. Slocum was a nurse’s aide at Lawrence County Hospital for 20 plus years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Slocum was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hollis Slocum and daughters, Sandy Slocum and Kathy Dunaway. She is survived by her son, Daniel Slocum (Kacey) of Silver Creek; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
