Mary Brooks Atkisson

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Atkisson will be held at 11:00 Saturday, April 14, 2018, at the Old Hebron Baptist Church. Mrs. Atkisson, 93, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2018, at her residence. Dr. John Anderson will officiate and interment will be in the New Hebron Cemetery.   Saulters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.   Mary Marguerite Atkisson was born December 31, 1924, in Wisner, LA to Willie Lee Brooks, Sr. and Oma Rae Williams. She was an assembly line worker for the American Cancer Society and a member of Black Oak Baptist Church in Okalona, MS. She was a member of the American Beef Masters Association and a former member of Farm Bureau Board of Directors. She Loved Fox News.   She was preceded in death by her mother and father; husband, Benjamin Atkisson; Two daughters, Gwendolyn Atkisson and Regan Skotco; Two brothers, Happy Brooks and Willie Lee Brooks, Jr.; Two sisters, Patricia Ann Picou and Gwendolyn Pettit.   Mrs. Burnett is survived by; two daughters, Marilyn Sorey (Charlie) of Harrisville and Linda Atkisoon Fulton of New Hebron.; Six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.; One brother, Jerry Brooks, Sr. (Geraldine) of Silver Creek.   Visitation will be Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 at Old Hebron Baptist Church before the service.   Online condolences and a guest registry are available at www.saultersmoorefuneralhome.com.
