Funeral services for Mrs. Lynnie Abernathy Bridges will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at Saulters Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Bridges, 85, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2018, at Magee General Hospital. Rev. Charles Burnham, Rev. Jimmy Abernathy, Rev. Earl Clark and Rev. Kenneth McQueen will officiate. Interment will follow in Whitesand Cemetery. Saulters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be: Rusty Bridges, Randy Morrow, Tommy Walker, Calvin Abernathy, Allen Rogers and Curtis Wayne Bridges. Honorary Bearers will be: Josh Banks, Connor Banks, Nathan Bridges and Tony Bevill. Lynnie Abernathy Bridges was born January 25, 1933, in Pinola, MS to Tom Abernathy and Rosie Sullivan Abernathy. She was a seamstress in the sewing factory and a member of Whitesand Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Rosie Abernathy of Pinola, MS; and her husband of 48 years, James “Jimmy” Harold Bridges. Mrs. Bridges is survived by four children, Billy H. Bridges (Vicky) of Prentiss, Marilyn Banks Bevill (Tony) of Prentiss, Aaron Bridges (Fran) of Mendenhall and Darron Bridges (Kim) of Prentiss; Four Grandchildren, Tobi Bridges Berry of Hattiesburg, Samantha Banks Morrow of Magee, Josh Banks (Amanda) of Hattiesburg and Hollie Bridges of Mendenhall; Five Great Grandchildren, Carlie Anne Morrow, Hannah Morrow, Connor Banks, Grayce McNabb and Nathan Bridges; Three Brothers, John Thomas (Bo) Abernathy of Magee, Jimmy Lloyd (Mary) Abernathy of Florence and Pat Abernathy of Wiggins; Two Sisters, Annie Lee Walker of Byram and Irene Rodgers of Wiggins; A host of nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 23, 2018 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 at Saulters Funeral Home before the service.
