Joyce Hiel

Funeral services for Mrs. Joyce Hiel will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at the New Hebron Baptist Church. Mrs. Hiel, 79, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS.  Reverend Mike Grenn will officiate. The family will have a private burial.   Saulters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.   Joyce Hiel was born June 26, 1938, in New Orleans, LA to Leo Alfred Gomez, Sr. and Marieliese Albro Gomez.  She was a 911 operator for the police/fire department.  She had been a Boy Scouts of America den mother.   She was a member of New Hebron Baptist Church.   She was preceded in death by her father and mother; her husband, Anthony L. Hiel, Jr.; her son, Glenn Robert Hiel; her daughter, Bonnie Gayle Angler and her brother, Leo Alfred Gomez, Jr.   Mrs. Hiel is survived by her son, Gary (Mellisa) Hiel of New Hebron; eight grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Daniel (Patricia) Gomez of Bridge City, LA and Samuel Michael (Margo) Gomez of Kenner, LA and one sister, Marieliese Gomez Falcon of Waggaman, LA.   Visitation will be Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM at New Hebron Baptist Church before the service.   The family is asking for donations to the Gideons International, P.
