Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth Thurman will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday January 31, 2019, at the Saulters Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Thurman, 50, passed away Monday January 28, 2019, at UMC in Jackson.  Reverend Wayne Womack will officiate. Interment will be in the New Hebron Cemetery. Saulters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Joseph Odom, Lee Holifield, Brooks Jones, Wilson Purser, Jr., Anthony Hunt, Jr. and Lawrence Smith. Kenneth Thurman was born September 18, 1968 in Monticello, MS to Elmer Thurman and Opal Thompson Thurman. He was a welder and a member of New Hebron Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Thurman. Mr. Thurman is survived by his Father, Elmer Thurman of Canton; Mother, Opal Long of New Hebron; one son, Dustin Runnels (Joy) of Loranger, LA; one daughter, Rachael Hodges (Dennis) of New Hebron; one brother, Eddie Thurman of New Hebron; one sister, Angie Purser (Wilson) of Puckett; four grandchildren Benjamin Runnels, Hailee Martin, Aiden Hodges and Kian Hodges. Visitation will be Thursday January 31, 2019 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm  at Saulters Funeral Home before the service.
