Funeral services for Mrs. Karen Griffith Creel will be conducted at 12:00 Noon Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Prentiss. The Reverend Terry Wallace will officiate. Mrs. Creel, age 56, entered into the eternal rest of her Lord Saturday, October 29, 2022, at the Merit Health-Wesley Medical Center in Hattiesburg from complications of a heart procedure. The family will receive friends Wednesday morning beginning at 10:00 AM until the hour of service at 12:00 Noon at Saulters Moore Funeral Home. Karen Griffith Creel was born on November 10, 1965, in Prentiss, MS to Joe and Sue Williamson Griffith. She and her high school sweet-heart, Frank, began dating when they were just teenagers and married soon after graduation. Karen and Frank would enjoy 37 years of marriage. Along with Frank, Karen raised 2 beautiful daughters and spent most of her adult life as a homemaker, lovingly tending to the needs of her family. Among her pastimes were shopping and reading; in addition, she especially enjoyed watching Hallmark movies and the timeless sitcom, The Golden Girls. Karen's family remarks that she was such a fan of The Golden Girls that she could readily quip many of the quotes from the show she so enjoyed. Karen also liked to cook and will be remembered for the Corn and Crab Bisque that she made. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Prentiss. Loved by many, Karen will be missed by family and friends alike. She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Griffith. Karen's memory will forever be cherished by her husband of 37 years, Frank Creel of Sumrall; 2 daughters, Kyla Creel of Sumrall, Samantha (Bradly) Baughman of Columbia; her mother, Sue Griffith of Prentiss; 2 sisters, Brenda Saulters of Bassfield and Ann Hollingsworth of Prentiss.
