Graveside services for Mrs. June Lanell Berry Bayles will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, December 11, 2020, in the Dublin Baptist Church. Mrs. Bayles, age 88, passed away from this life on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, in Hattiesburg. Saulters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. June Berry Bayles was born in Carson, MS, on June 1, 1932. She was the daughter of Sadie Jones Berry and Albert Burkett Berry. In 1950, she married the boy next door (or down the hill), Henry Bayles. They had known each other her whole life and when she turned seventeen, he told her, “I’m going to marry you someday.” After June turned eighteen and attended one week of college, he did. June and Henry relocated to Florida in 1953 where they worked for C.C. Carpenter Farms. They returned their family to Mississippi in 1971 and became full time farmers, raising cattle and row crops. June was a talented cook, seamstress and crafter. She and her sister-in-law, Betty Berry, were the owners of the Berry Patch Framing and Crafting company for many years. Active in community service, June was a member of the Twentieth Century Club, WMU and LIFT (Ladies in Fellowship Together). June was also a talented Pianist. After she and Henry came home, she became pianist at Dublin Baptist Church. June served her Lord and church family in this capacity for over forty years. Mrs. Bayles was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Henry Bayles; her parents and 2 brothers, Grayson Berry and Kayron Berry. Survivors include 2 sons, David Henry Bayles of Carson and Michael Berry Bayles (Rhonda) of Prentiss; 2 daughters, Diane Bayles Myers (Tommy) and Connie Larayne Bayles, all of Carson; 5 grandchildren, Karen Myers Taylor (Buddy), Kelli Bayles Green (Wes), Matthew Bayles (Erin), Sarah Michelle Bayles, and Amy Delores Myers; 6 great-grandchildren, Lilly Taylor, Daisy Taylor, Rosey Taylor, Colton Cheeks, Riley Goldsmith and Reed Goldsmith; 1 brother, Jimmy Berry; sisters-in-law, Barbara Berry, Betty Berry, Ruth Bayles and Ann Bayles; as well as a full blessing of other relatives and friends.
