James Stewart, Sr.

Graveside services for Mr. James Stewart, Sr. will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at the Daniel R. King Cemetery in Bassfield. Mr. Stewart, age 79, passed away on Monday, August 19, 2019 at Asbury Hospice Center in Hattiesburg, MS.  Reverend Albert Reid and Reverend Chad Craft will officiate.   Saulters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.   James Stewart, Sr. was born on January 22, 1940 in Prentiss, MS to Ruel S. Stewart and Eunice King Stewart. Mr. Stewart was a Captain on a Crew Boat. He was affiliated with the Pentecostal Church.     He was preceded in death by his mother and father; 1 son, James Stewart, Jr. and 1 brother, Alfred L. Stewart.   Mr. Stewart is survived by 7 sons, David Stewart (Marilynn) of Azle, TX, Kenneth Stewart (Karen) of Tuscaloosa, AL, Ricky Stewart of Tuscaloosa, AL, James Stewart, Jr. of Venice, LA, Van Stewart of Marshal, TX, Samuel James Stewart of Gulfport and James Samuel Stewart, Jr. of LA; 3 daughters, Diane Stewart of Fishertown, PA; and 1 sister, Margie Cook of Ocean Springs.   Visitation will be Thursday, August 22, 2019 from 8:30 AM until 9:30 AM at Saulters Funeral Home.   Online condolences and a guest registry are available at www.saultersmoorefuneralhome.com
