James R. "Jimmy" Carlisle, a man whose life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, hard work, and a deep to nature, passed away on April 10, 2024.

Friends and family will gather at the Carlisle Cabin in Carson, 630 Carson Bunkerhill Road, for a Service of Remembrance, Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 11:00 AM.  Friends are requested to dress casually and for comfort. Rev. Ken Roberts will officiate and Mrs. Janie Winscott Krauss will serve as the celebrant for the service.

Born on May 16, 1941 in Natchez, Mississippi to James and Dorothy White Carlisle, Jimmy's journey in this world was marked by dedication and passion. He dedicated many years of his life to Sanderson Farms, where he eventually retired as a Broiler Manager. His commitment and hard work were evident in all aspects of his life.

Jimmy's love for nature was unparalleled. Every morning would find him tending to his flowers or harvesting vegetables on the farm he loved so much. He had a generous heart and took great joy in sharing the fruits of his labor with his neighbors. His greenhouse was a sanctuary where he nurtured his beloved Orchids of vibrant hues, reflecting the beauty he saw in the world around him.

A graduate of Washington High School and later Co-Lin Jr. College, Jimmy cherished learning and self-improvement throughout his life. However, one of his proudest accomplishments was the construction of his cherished cabin. From 2009 to 2011, Jimmy poured his heart and soul into building this haven with his own hands. Every nail driven and every board cut was an expression of love, resulting in a place of solace and beauty that brought immense joy to him and his family.  He attended Prentiss Baptist Church.

Jimmy's memory will be treasured by all who knew him - from colleagues at Sanderson Farms to neighbors who received his bountiful harvests of vegetables. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, generosity, and an unwavering love for the natural world.

Mr. Carlisle is preceded in death by his parents.

His memory will forever be cherished by his wife of 16 years, Patsy Courtney Carlisle of Prentiss; daughter, Julie Carlisle of Baton Rouge, LA; son, Jamie Carlisle of Wesson; step-daughter, Deedee Taylor of Sumrall and his grandchildren, Jonathan, Julie, Joseph and Taylor
