Funeral Services for Mr. James Louis “Jim” Evans will be held at 3:00pm on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. Mr. Evans, age 84, passed away from this life on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at his residence in Richland. Reverend Gary Longo, Reverend James Johnston, and Mr. Billy Evans will officiate and interment will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Saulters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Brad Wingate, Robbie Williams, Charles Reel, John Cooper, Marvin Reel, and Butch Moore. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be Chance Sills and Shannon Price.          James Louis “Jim” Evans was born in Jefferson Davis County on March 19, 1934 to Danny Wayne Evans and Lena Ashcraft Evans. Mr. Evans was the owner of Evans Refrigeration Heating and Air. He was a member Trinity Gospel Fellowship in Richland. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, and 1 brother, Granvell Evans. Survivors include his wife, Carol Evans of Richland; 1 daughter, Tina Evans Ott of Richland; 1 son, Scott Evans of Richland; 5 step-daughters, Marilyn Williams (Billy) of Terry, Debbie Spikes (Ronnie) of Georgetown, Brenda Carroll (George) of Pearl, Heather Sills (Chance) of Florence, and Chrystal Scruggs (Steven) of Meridian; 3 grandchildren; 15 step-grandchildren; 34 step- great-grandchildren, and 15 step- great-great grandchildren; 1 brother, Fred Marshal Evans (Nyonia) of Richland;  and 1 sister-in-law, Juanita Evans of Prentiss; as well a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:30pm until 3:00pm at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
