Graveside services for Mr. Jimmy Bryant will be held at 3:30 PM on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at the Society Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Bryant, age 75, passed away from this life on Thursday, May 28, 2020 in Ruston, LA. Reverend Mike Aultman will officiate. Saulters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Christopher Garriga, Bryant Bennett, Jacob Bryant, Tommy Michael Smith, Eddie McRaney, Jeffrey Lee, Bradley Bennett, and Webb Anderson. James Vernon “Jimmy” Bryant was born on February 6, 1945 in Hattiesburg to Earl Bryant, Jr. and Wilda Louise Strickland Bryant. Mr. Bryant was a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served in the Navy Construction Battalion (CB’s). Mr. Bryant was self employed as a Crain and Heavy Equipment Operator. Mr. Bryant spent most of his career in South Louisiana before retiring back to Oakvale. He enjoyed serving others with a smile on his face and love in his heart. Mr. Bryant and his wife enjoyed sharing their love with family and friends. His Love of The Lord Jesus Christ was most important in his life and he was always willing to share Christ with those around him. He was active in the Royal Ambassadors (RA’s), the Southern Baptist Association and the Baptist Foundation. Jimmy Bryant was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. Mr. Bryant was preceded in death by his mother and father; and 2 brothers, Paul Eldridge Bryant and an infant brother. Survivors are his wife of 50 years, Sandra Grace Macon Bryant of Oakvale; 2 sons, Jeremy Vernon Bryant of Toronto, Canada, and Jacob Paul Bryant (Jennifer) of Hammond, LA; 2 daughters, Jessica Bryant Bennett of Ruston, LA, and Jennifer Elizabeth Garriga (Christopher) also of Ruston; 6 grandchildren, Bryant Reagan Bennett, Britton Morgan Bennett, Brycen Bradley Bennett, Charley Grace Garriga, Collins Elizabeth Garriga, and Hadley Beth Bryant; 1 sister, Rebecca Bryant Farlow (Donald) of Benton Harbor, MI; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Ebenezer Baptist Church at 321 Ebenezer Rd. Bassfield, MS 39421.
