Earnest Ray "Jack" Gamble, Jr.

Graveside services for Mr. Earnest Ray "Jack" Gamble, Jr. will be conducted Sunday afternoon, September 26, 2021, at 2:00 pm at Prentiss Cemetery. Mr. Gamble, age 67, passed away Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Lackey Memorial Hospital in Forest, MS. Brother Lyn Holloway will officiate. Saulters Moore Funeral Home of Prentiss, MS is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Gamble was born on April 17, 1954 in Prentiss, MS to Earnest Ray Gamble, Sr. and Viola Daughdrill Gamble. "Jack", as he was known by everyone, worked for many years in the Oil Industry and specialized in petroleum geology and consulting. He also worked in the logging business. In addition, Jack was a farmer and was well known for the fruitstand he operated. He was of the Baptist faith. Serving as pallbearers are Mason Shivers, Konnor Daley, Tray Gamble, Mitchell Daley and Tony Gamble. Mr. Gamble was preceded in death by his father, Earnest Ray Gamble, his step-father and mother, George and Viola Gamble Smith and also 2 brothers, Cecil and Noland Gamble. Mr. Gamble leaves behind 1 son, Earnest Ray "Tray" Gamble, III (Jessica) of Meridian, MS; 3 daughters, Christy Young (Ron) of Hattiesburg, MS, Trish Daley (Mitchell) of Purvis, MS and Jacqueline Gamble of New Hebron, MS; 1 Sister, Catherine Tadlock of Morton and 7 grandchildren. Visitation will be held Sunday from 12:00 PM until 1:45 PM, with the service commencing at 2:00 PM at Prentiss Cemetery.
