Funeral services for Grady Eugene "Big Grady" Saulters will be conducted at 10:00 AM Saturday, July 2, 2022, at Santee Baptist Church in Bassfield. Brother Seth Bond will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Saulters, age 70, passed away Wednesday afternoon, June 29 2022, at the Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg after a long illness. Grady Eugene Saulters was born on April 30, 1952 in Jefferson Davis County to Curtis and Myrtle Graves Saulters. Grady was loved by all that knew him. Also affectionately known as "Big Grady" or the "Mayor of the Ball Field", he and his sweetheart Alice, loved to host huge parties. Many happy hours were passed as friends from as far away as Louisiana would gather to the Saulters' place to cook whole hogs in the ground, boil crawfish, play ball and listen to a live country band. Some of these gatherings were known to draw at least 180 people and Grady loved every moment. He spent many years working as a logger for Daughdrill Logging and other Logging companies. Mr. Saulters was of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by his parents Curtis and Myrtle Saulters; 2 brothers, Curtis and James Saulters and 2 sisters, Shirley O'Brien and Kathleen Burkhalter. Grady's memory will forver be cherished by his wife of 50 years, Alice Saulters of Prentiss; his sister, Oline Forman of Zachary, LA and a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Saulters Moore Funeral Home. Mr. Saulters will also lie in state Saturday morning from 9:00 AM until the hour of service at 10:00 AM at Santee Baptist Church. Serving as Pallbearers are John Dyess, David Hutchinson, Mickey Gamble, Jacob Daley, Faye Burkhalter, Jennifer Daley, Ashley Daley and Kathy Crawford. Honorary Pallbearers include Kim Ann Hutchinson, John David Hutchinson, James Hutchinson, Joel Daley and Kaleigh Green.
