Emma Lou Dyess

Graveside services for Ms. Emma Lou Dyess will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at the Prentiss Cemetery. Ms. Dyess, age 96, went home to her Lord and Savior on Monday, December 21, 2020 at Jeff Davis Extended Care Facility in Prentiss. Reverend Pete Bennett will officiate. Saulters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Emma Lou Dyess was born on July 25, 1924 in Carson to Percy M. Dyess and Clara Belle Worthy Dyess. Ms. Dyess graduated from Carson High School in 1942 and attended Draughns Business College. She worked as a bookkeeper for 23 years with Employers Mutual Casualty Company, retiring to return to her home in Carson to care for her parents. Ms. Dyess was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; brother, Carey Hal Dyess; and eldest sister, Elsie Dyess Gowen.
