  Funeral Services for Mrs. Doris W. Thompson will be held Friday, March 23, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Saulters Funeral Home Chapel. Mrs. Thompson passed away from this life on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at The Jeff Davis County Nursing Home. Reverend Charles Loftin will officiate.  Interment will follow in the St. James Cemetery. Pallbearers will be, Chuck Franzalia, Jeremy Thompson, Joel Thompson, Darrel Broome, Ricky Thompson &, Hal Bell. Saulters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Doris Wayne Broome Thompson was born September 28, 1930 in Mississippi to Mr. Anderson Broome and Mrs. Lola Hatten Broome.  Mrs. Thompson was a seamstress in a garment factory and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; Her husband of 49 years, William Thompson; Her son, William “Billy” Wayne Thompson; Three sisters, Louise Polk, Gladys May Bell and Hazel Allen. Mrs. Thompson is survived by her sons, Bobby Thompson (Wanda) of Purvis and Michael Thompson of Prentiss; Her daughter, Lana Franzalia (Chuck) of Ft. Walton Beach, FL and her brother, H.D. Broome (Gracie) of Bassfield; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday March 23, 2018 from 9:30 to 11:00am at Saulters Funeral Home before the service.
