Diane McPhail

Funeral services for Diane McPhail will be conducted at 2:00 PM Monday, August 12, 2024, at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in the Bassfield Cemetery. The Reverend Roland McMillan will officiate. Mrs. McPhail, age 65, passed away Thursday afternoon, August 8, 2024, at her home in Collins. Saulters Moore Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.

The family will receive friends Monday, 2 hours prior to the funeral service, beginning at 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM at Saulters Moore Funeral Home.

Dorris Diane McPhail was born on June 17, 1959 in Jefferson Davis County to Robert and Dorris Sue Garraway Morris. A graduate of Biloxi High School, Diane enjoyed being on the cheerleading squad. She had lived in South Mississippi most of her life and her reputation of compassionate care kept her in high demand as a personal caregiver for the elderly in her younger years. 

A huge fan of racing, she enjoyed going with friends to the racetrack at Hattiesburg when she was younger, which is where she first met her husband in the year 2000. After a year-long courtship and engagement, the couple wed and enjoyed 23 years together. Her husband remarks that one of her favorite things to do was watch classic television shows that reflected a simpler era with more wholesome family values. Mrs. McPhail was of the Methodist faith.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her son, Ryan Cory Johnson.

Her memory will forever be cherished by her husband, Mark McPhail of Collins; a son, Christopher Johnson of Poplarville; her brother, Thomas P. Morris of Collins and her mother and father-in-law, Glenn and Linda McPhail of Prentiss.
