She was born on January 25, 1980, in Jackson, MS, to Noel B. and Christine Daley Skinner. Donna faced physical challenges throughout her life, yet she never allowed them to define her. Her outlook was one of unwavering brightness, matched only by her signature smile that could light up even the dimmest of days. A proud graduate of Bassfield High School, Donna etched her name in the hearts of all when she was crowned Homecoming Queen. Her journey continued as she enrolled at Jones Community College, where she pursued her dreams with the same vigor that characterized her life.
Donna enjoyed simple pleasures, including reading romance novels and listening to music. Her spirit was as vibrant as her favorite color, Mint Green, symbolizing freshness and tranquility. This shade reflected her love for nature and the uplifting feelings often associated with spring. However, her greatest love was undeniably her family. She cherished the moments spent during family gatherings, eagerly anticipating the weekends filled with family meals and cookouts. Her heart glowed, especially when her nieces and nephews visited, with the two youngest finding comfort as they crawled up to snuggle with her in bed, bringing endless warmth to her days. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.
Donna was a beacon of joy to all that knew her, and the memories of her kindness, laughter, and the light she brought into our lives will live on.
Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Noel B. and Christine Skinner; sister, Stephanie Dawn Skinner; brother, Gerald Skinner; paternal grandparents, Noel J. and Agnes Skinner; maternal grandparents, Ruth and Chris Daley and her great-nephew, Eli Keen.
Her memory will forever be cherished by her sisters, Melissa Skinner, Martha “Scottie” Skinner, Pamela Skinner, all of Bassfield, and her brothers, Noel Skinner of Bassfield and Heath (Amanda) Skinner of Hattiesburg. Donna also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, along with a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
