Deborah Chipley Brinson was born on December 10, 1957 in Kosciusko, Mississippi to James and Rose Evans Chipley. Growing up in Vancleave, Mississippi, Debbie, as she was known to everyone, attended Vancleave High School and graduated as an honor graduate from the class of 1975. During her time in high school, she was a Majorette and a featured Twirler and was also recognized as the Most Beautiful her senior year—an acknowledgment that spoke to her inner and outer beauty. After high school graduation, Debbie enrolled at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College-Perk and also attended The University of Southern Mississippi-Gulf Park Center, where she studied Criminal Justice.
Debbie's professional journey began on the Gulf Coast, where she worked for Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula. Her skills and hard work were also evident during her time as an administrative assistant at Kips Center for Fitness and Gymnastics in Hattiesburg. Her commitment to excellence led her to become a Loan Officer at Lamar Bank after moving to Prentiss. Ultimately, she retired as an administrative assistant for the Boswell Center in Magee.
Outside of her professional life, Debbie pursued her passions and hobbies with great enthusiasm. She had an exceptional talent for cooking and was renowned for her delicious Gumbo, which will be remembered by friends and family for generations to come. Debbie also took pleasure in bargain shopping, always on the lookout for a great deal. Estate sales were a particular favorite of hers, as she enjoyed uncovering hidden treasures that held stories of their own. Her family relates that Debbie absolutely loved Mardi Gras and was once voted Queen of the Carnival in Pascagoula. The Gulf Coast always held a special place in her heart and she enjoyed many weekend getaways, filled with love and laughter, with her friends. Debbie was a member of the Leaf Avenue Church in Prentiss.
In addition to her parents, Debbie was preceded in death by her brothers, Lyman and Jackie Chipley.
Her memory will be cherished by her husband of over 30 years, Harper Brinson of Prentiss; 2 daughters, Whitney (Zach) Nelson-Robinette of St. Louis, Mo, Allison Brinson (Cliff) Rayburn of Tuscaloosa, AL; her son, Chandler Harper Brinson of Madison; her sister, Betty Cochran of Lucedale and a brother, John Chipley of Semmes, AL. Debbie also leaves behind her grandchildren, Taylor Elizabeth Rayburn, Connor Marshall Rayburn, Ross Bryant Rayburn and Phoebe Catherine Robinette.
