Funeral services for Mr. Dannie Ray Carter will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Saulters-Moore Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Carter, age 60, passed away from this life on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 in Prentiss. Reverend Lon Keen will officiate. Interment will follow at New Chapel Cemetery in Collins. Pallbearers will be Josh Herrington, T.J. Davis, David Hux, Gary Gatwood, Quinton Gibson and Corbin Stephens. Saulters-Moore Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Dannie Ray Carter was born on June 10, 1960 in Mississippi to Louis Carter and Lois Dunn Carter. Mr. Carter worked with the road department for Jefferson Davis County since 2006. Dannie “Bat” Carter was a big rabbit and deer hunter. He was preceded in death by his father and mother and 1 brother, Clyde Carter. Mr. Carter is survived by his wife, Tammy Carter of Columbia; 1 son, Tyson Carter of Prentiss; 2 daughters, Miranda Applewhite of Sumrall and Jalynn Herrington of New Hebron; and 5 grandchildren.
