Graveside services for Mr. Glenn Grubbs will be held at 6:00 PM on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at the New Hebron Cemetery. Mr. Grubbs, age 86, passed away from this life on Friday, September 4, 2020 at Merit Health Wesley in Hattiesburg. Reverend Earl Clark and Reverend Mike Grenn will officiate. Saulters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be, Shannon Slater, David Collins, Billy Fraysier, Tommy Sills, Jackie Daughdrill, Charles Slater, Rusty Sherman, Cade Butera. Glenn Grubbs was born on March 7, 1934 in Shivers to Burnly Grubbs and Etta Westmoreland Grubbs. He graduated from New Hebron High School in 1953 and moved to Jackson where he went to work for Stewart Potato Chip Company. He later worked for Seal Lilly Ice Cream Company. Glenn moved back to New Hebron 5 years later and spent the next 28 years farming, growing corn, soy beans and raising hogs. In 1996 he was elected as County Supervisor for District 4 in Lawrence County where he served until his retirement in 2016. Glenn was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and working on his farm. He liked to travel and visit his children and grandchildren as often as he could. He was a member of New Hebron Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Earl Grubbs and 2 sisters, Bernice Culpepper and Maydene Slater. Mr. Grubbs is survived by his wife of 64 years, June Sherman Grubbs of New Hebron; 2 daughters, Glenda Munka (Bill) of Olive Branch and Jennifer Thompson (Carl) of Nolensville, TN; 4 grandchildren, McKenzie Butera, Addie Butera, Cade Butera and Maggie Butera; a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
