Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 29th, at the New Hebron Pentecostal Church in New Hebron, MS for Brenda Faye Bridges McRaney, 74, of New Hebron, who gained her wings on Sunday, July 26th, at her residence. A social distance viewing for family and friends will be held from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M at the church with graveside services immediately following. The Reverend Cliff Hilton and Reverend Robert H. Jones will preside at the graveside service. Brenda Faye Bridges McRaney was born on September 10th, 1945 in the Whitesand Community to Willis Bennett Bridges and Mattie Mae Griffith. Brenda met the love of her life, Reese, during a church service at Whitesand Baptist Church in 1962 and they married on September 14, 1963. Brenda’s parents insisted that she be 18 years of age to marry and she waited exactly 4 days after her 18th birthday and spent the next 57 years holding true to the nuptials that were exchanged in a service at her aunt’s home. She and Reese moved to New Hebron a couple of years later and started their family. As a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother, she was devoted to her family and their success. During her later years, she was affectionately know as “Mamaw” by her grandchildren and she played an integral part in their lives. Allie, Katie, Mattie and Sophie were simply her whole heart. Her faith in God shined in every aspect of her life and became her legacy to her family. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents; her eldest child, Eddie McRaney and brother, William G. Bridges. There is no doubt that they are rejoicing together in heaven. She is survived by her husband, Reese Aubrey McRaney; daughter Michelle Jones(Bart) and son, Shane McRaney ; daughter in love, Kim Letchworth; granddaughters Allison Mayers, Mattie and Sophie McRaney and Katie Thompson; brother Jerry Bridges (Judy); nieces Connie West (Rex) and Cherry O’Mary; great niece Bonnie Branch (Matt); great nephews Henry West(Charlie) and Josh O’Mary (Laura); and a host of family and friends. Enjoy your homecoming mom! We know heaven is rejoicing with its newest angel, but always know a hole will forever be left in our hearts. “To die is not to die as long as you live on in the hearts of the ones who love you!” Fly high!
