Funeral services for Mr. Billy Lavelle McPhail will be conducted at 3:00 PM Sunday, August 7, 2022, at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in the Carson Cemetery. Brother Robby Hathorn and Brother Randy Easterling will officiate. Mr. McPhail, age 85, entered into the eternal rest of his Lord Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at the Jefferson Davis County Hospital in Prentiss. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 PM until the hour of service at 3:00 PM at Saulters Moore Funeral Home. Billy Lavelle McPhail, a retired upholsterer, was born on July 2, 1937, in Jeffeson Davis County to Byron Lavelle and Otres Nelda Branton McPhail. Billy grew up in the era when soldiers were returning from World War II. These events peaked an interest in a young Billy McPhail and created a life long passion for World War II movies and history, in general. In addition, he was an avid gardener and also loved old tractors. Mr. McPhail attended the Sonshine Square Church in Carson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Byron and Nelda McPhail. His memory will forever be cherished by his son, David McPhail (Cynthia) of Hattiesburg, MS; daughter, Rachel Dorgeloh (Harold) of Palm Bay, FL; 2 brothers, Harlos McPhail (Janie) of Prentiss, Donald McPhail (Nita) of Mt. Olive; 2 sisters, Carolyn Bryant (Wayne) of Prentiss and Sharon Easterling (Randy) of Carson; grandchildren, Jarod McPhail, Nathan McPhail, Emily Tynes, Ashley Hargraves, Daniel Dorgeloh and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Serving as pallbearers are Scotty McPhail, Randy Miller, Maurice McPhail, Brian McPhail, Neal Walker, Kadyn McPhail, Jarod McPhail and Nathan McPhail.
