Funeral services for Beverly Gatwood will be held at Eleven O'clock Tuesday morning, June 15, 2021 at the Prentiss Apostolic Church; 54 J E Johnson Rd. Prentiss, MS. Rev. David R. Buckley, Rev. Steve Graves and Rev. Floyd Odom will officiate. Interment will follow in the Saulters-McRaney Cemetery. Mrs. Gatwood, age 73, passed away late Saturday evening, June 12, 2021 at her residence. She was surrounded by family as she left this earth to join her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Pallbearers will be: Dustin McPhail, Evan Smith, Seth Steverson, Jeremy Clark, Jeffery Anderson and Brad Delk. Beverly was born in Prentiss, MS on July 7, 1947 to Homer "Pete" and Nellie Hutchinson Saulters. Among her many passions in life, she enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and working in her flowers. Beverly loved to raise a garden and share her canned vegetables with those she loved. "Sister Gatwood",as she was affectionately called by many, loved God's Word. One of the family's dearest possessions is her Bible. Its pages filled with notes, it is worn and tattered; reflecting many hours of study and communion with her Lord. She taught children in Sunday School for many years and was a faithful member of Prentiss Apostolic church, . She leaves to cherish her memory, her Husband; Tommy Gatwood of Prentiss. 3 Daughters; Deana Bass (Jack) and Stacie Smith, both of Prentiss, Twyla Steverson of Hattiesburg. 1 Sister; Vicky Delk of Prentiss and 1 Brother; Randy Saulters of Prentiss. She also leaves behind 6 Grandchildren; Dustin McPhail, Malorie Clark, Alaina Anderson, Evan Smith, Hannah Steverson and Seth Steverson. 10 Great Grandchildren; Connor McPhail, Payton McPhail, Henley McPhail, Jaylee Clark, Macie Clark, Ashton Anderson, Amelia Anderson, Landen Smith, Grayson Smith and Kolten Smith. She was preceded in death by her Parents; Pete and Nellie Saulters, a Sister; Nell McRaney, and a Son-In-Law, Warren Smith. Visitation will be from 5pm to 8pm, Monday evening, June 14, 2021 at the Prentiss Apostolic Church; in addition, Sister Gatwood will lie instate at her church one hour prior to the service hour.
