Graveside services for Mrs. Betty Rodrigue, of St. Cloud, Florida, will be conducted at 3:00 PM Saturday, November 16, 2024, at the Tyrone Cemetery in Prentiss.  Mrs. Rodrigue, age 91, left this Earth peacefully on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, accompanied by two of her adult children in the comfort of her own home.  Saulters Moore Funeral Home has been entrusted with local arrangements.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 16, beginning at 1:00 PM until 2:45 PM at Saulters Moore Funeral Home, with the funeral procession departing immediately afterwards.

Born Betty Jo Jordan to Arthur and Jewel Jordan of Prentiss, Miss. in 1933, Betty attended and graduated from Prentiss High School and not long afterward moved to Jackson in search of a career. Her brother Robert “Ras” Jordan, however, soon talked her into moving to Baton Rouge near him, where she began taking classes at Louisiana State University and met the love of her life, Joseph E. Rodrigue. After running a stamp redemption store there for a few years, the couple with four young children moved to Southern California in 1962 un 1970, when they returned to her hometown of Prentiss. A year later, most of the family moved to Hattiesburg where they had opened a health food store and a gift shop near the University of Southern Mississippi. The couple relocated to Central Florida in 1988.
Throughout adult life, Betty was an avid church choir member, having made an initial commitment to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at a youth retreat in North Carolina as a teenager. She was a faithful choir member of both Bellevue and Westover Baptist Churches near and in Hattiesburg, Miss., as well as a long-term choir member of Neptune Baptist Church in Kissimmee, Fla.
Betty is survived by her children Joey Rodrigue of Texas; David Rodrigue of Ruakaka, New Zealand; Donald Rodrigue of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; Patricia Rodrigue of St. Cloud, Fla.; daughters-in-law Jennifer (David) of Ruakaka, New Zealand and Gloria (Donald) of Port St. Lucie; grandchildren Daniel Rodrigue and Christine Rodrigue Havener, both of Texas; Emily Rodrigue of Ogden, Utah; Marco Rodrigue of Ruakaka, New Zealand; and Steven Rodrigue of Fort Walton, Fla.; great-grandchildren Abel, Abram, Eden and Israel Rodrigue, all of Fort Walton, Fla.; Chloe and Harrison Rodrigue and Logan Havener, all of Texas; and Rosie Rodrigue of Ruakaka, New Zealand; niece Judy Jordan Stringer of Foxworth, Miss.; and numerous cousins scattered from Southern Mississippi to Panama City, Fla.
Betty was proceeded in death by her husband Joe; her parents; her older sister Jessie Nell Jordan; her brother Ras; first cousins Catherine (Jackson) King of Petal, Miss., Dot Ballard of Panama City, Fla;, Nelda (Jackson) Lott of Perkinston, Miss.; and sister-in-law Fanny (Kinchen) Jordan of Mt, Olive, Miss.
