Rushell Riley

Funeral services were held Monday, November 29, 2010 at New Hebron Baptist Church for Mrs. Rushell S. Riley, age 85, of New Hebron, MS who passed away November 25, 2010 at Heritage Manor in Silver Creek, MS. Interment followed at New Hebron Cemetery. Rev. S. A. “Sonny” Adkins, Rev. Earl Clark and Rev. Derek Lambert officiated. Saulters Moore Funeral Service of Prentiss was in charge of arrangements. Pall bearers were John Mark Riley, Bill Miller, Glenn Grubbs, Jimmy Jones, Bobby Lee, Joe Riley and John Flynt and Joe Vasko. Dora Rushell Sandifer Riley was born October 21, 1925 in Lawrence County, Mississippi. She was the daughter of Norris Sandifer and Mollie Allen Sandifer. She was co-owner with her husband, Henry Riley, of the grocery store in New Hebron. She was also the Librarian at the New Hebron Public Library for many years. She was a member of New Hebron Baptist Church and the Women’s Club of New Hebron. Mrs. Riley is survived by her sons, Paul Riley and Jeff Riley both of New Hebron, MS; four grandchildren and a sister, Bernice Watson of Jackson, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Henry Riley, three brothers and four sisters.
