Annette Gatewood

Funeral services were held Thursday, November 4, 2010 at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mrs. Dorothy Annette Gatewood, age 86, of Prentiss, MS who passed away November 1, 2010 at JDCH Extended Care Facility in Prentiss. Rev. Robert Cooper, Rev. L. C. Anthony and Rev. Robert Sones officiated. Interment followed at Dublin Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bruce Dockall, Bryan Courtney, Joseph Gatewood, Charles Reid, Ricky Dyess and Alton Herrington. Dorothy Annette Gatewood was born December 11, 1923 in Jefferson Davis County, MS. She was the daughter of Jasper Dyess and Audrey Cole Dyess. She was a homemaker and had worked at Reliance in Columbia. She was a member of Dublin Baptist Church and was active in their Training Union. She is survived by her sons, James Gatewood (Janice) of Prentiss, MS and George Wayne Gatewood (Julia) of Houston, TX; her daughter, Diane Daughdrill (Cleve) of Prentiss, MS; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; a brother, Shannon Dyess of Bassfield, MS and a sister, Charlie Merle Cranford of Prentiss, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George Gatewood, a grandson and a brother.
