Geraldine Mayfield

Funeral services were held Monday, September 13, 2010,at Saulters-Moore Funeral Home Chapel, Prentiss, MS for Mrs. Geraldine Mayfield, age 83, of Prentiss, MS who died Friday, September 10, 2010 at Jefferson Davis Community Hospital in Prentiss. Rev. Ben James officiated. Mr. Kayron Berry and Mrs. Patricia Williams provided musical meditation. Interment followed in Brady Cemetery, Prentiss, MS. Pallbearers were Ricky Grant, John Thomas Kemp, Joshua Kemp, Chris Mayfield, David Mayfield and Walter Carroll Williamson. Honorary Pallbearers were members of the Kenneth Lee/Jim Parkman Sunday School Class of Prentiss Baptist Church. Geraldine Mayfield, better known as Jerry, was born July 21, 1927 in St. Landry Parish, Louisiana. She was the daughter of Thomas Bruce Harris and Vera Smith Harris. She worked as a secretary with the MS Unemployment Services in Jackson and for Bud Dale‘s Cotton Office. She was a member of the Daughters of American Revolution and a member of Prentiss Baptist Church. Mrs. Mayfield is survived by her husband, Billy Mayfield of Prentiss, MS; a daughter, Jerianne Mayfield Kemp of Hattiesburg, MS; two sons: Wes Mayfield of Mobile, AL and Billy Bruce Mayfield of Shalimar, FL; a sister, Libba Mikell of Prentiss, MS; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister. Memorials may be made to Prentiss Baptist Church, PO Box 297, Prentiss, MS 39474.
