Mrs. Gladys Elizabeth Sherman, age 72, passed away Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland, MS. She worked as a Supervisor for New Hebron Manufacturing Co. for many years. She owned and operated Sherman’s Truck Stop and G & D Poultry & Produce Co. and was a homemaker. She was an active worker in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She was born February 10, 1938 in Neshoba County, MS and was the daughter of R.P. Kelly and Clara Malloy Kelly. Survivors include her husband, David Sherman of New Hebron, MS, a daughter Tricia Matthews and husband Mack of New Hebron, MS; two sons: Danny Sherman of Crystal Springs, MS and Rickie Lynn Sherman and wife, Deborah, of Pearl, MS; a brother, Roger Kelly of Philadelphia, MS; two sisters, Kathleen Powell of Pearl, MS and Barbara Carter of Brandon, MS; 27 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services were held Sunday, September 12, 2010 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Rev. Phillip Douglas and Rev. Duane Ray Bradford officiated. Interment followed in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Archie Baldwin, Ray Adair, Johnny Anderson, Jerome Hearn, Johnny Luke, David Batton, and Andy Kayla. Saulters-Moore Funeral Home handled arrangments.
