Funeral services were held Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Saulters-Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mrs. Ora Lee Watson, age 89, of Monticello, MS, formerly of Silver Creek, MS, who died Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at the Lawrence County Nursing Center in Monticello. Rev. Chad Carney and Rev. L.C. Anthony officiated. Interment followed in Cliburn Cemetery. Pallbearers were Larry Davis, Mike Daughdrill, Billy Ray Jenkins, Emmitt Bullock, David Lee, and Glenn Wilson. Ora Lee Watson was born June 21, 1921 in Silver Creek, MS. She was the daughter of Steve Cliburn and Rena Batton Cliburn. She worked at New Hebron Manufacturing and Kellwood Manufacturing Co. for many years and was a cook for the Country Fisherman Restaurant. She,along with her sisters, opened the Cliburn Sisters Restaurant in Silver Creek. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and a member of Crooked Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Watson is survived by a brother-in-law, Lloyd Watson of Gulfport, MS; a sister -in-law, Barbara Morrow of Jefferson, TX; and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Higdon Watson, five sisters and three brothers.
