Jessie H. Armstrong, Jr.

Graveside services were held Sunday, September 5, 2010, at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in New Hebron, MS for Mr. Jessie H. Armstrong, Jr., age 82, of New Hebron who died Monday, August 30, 2010 at his residence. Rev. Phillip Douglas officiated. Jessie Hickman Armstrong, Jr. was born November 25, 1927 in Lawrence County, MS. He was the son of Jessie Hickman Armstrong, Sr. and Myrtis Beasley Armstrong. He served in the US Navy and worked as an Auto Mechanic for Berry Chevrolet for over forty years. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Mr. Armstrong is survived by two sons: David Randall Armstrong and wife Sharon of Petal, MS and Donald Dean Armstrong and wife, Jeanette of Sumrall, MS; three daughters: Linda Jean Haddox and husband Wes of Carson, MS, Ann McLeod and husband Norman of Mendenhall, MS and Laura Michelle Armstrong of Booneville, MS; one brother Jimmie Armstrong of New Hebron, MS; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Helen Armstrong, and a son.
