Lawrence Ervin King

Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Saulters-Moore Funeral Home Chapel for Mr. Lawrence King, age 90, of Prentiss, MS who died Sunday, August 29, 2010 at the Jefferson Davis Community Hospital Extended Care Facility in Prentiss. Rev. Rodney Bankens and Rev. D.R. Buckley officiated. Interment followed in King Family Cemetery,Bassfield, MS. Pallbearers were Thomas Hamilton, Tommy Gatwood, Julian Ranager, Cody Weeks, Tony Martin, and Lee Summers. Mr. Lawrence Ervin King was born February 6, 1920 in Jefferson Davis County, MS. He was the son of Charlie E. King and Ollie Foles King. He worked as a Maintenance Engineer with Jefferson Davis Community Hospital for forty-four years before retiring. He was a WWII Veteran of the US Army and a member of New Chapel United Pentecostal Church. Mr. King is survived by two grandchildren, Mark King and Terri Breazeale, both of Prentiss, MS; two great-grandchildren and a sister, Cecile Kirkley of Prentiss, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, his son, and his seven brothers and sisters.
