Mattie Sue Deen

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Saulters-Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mrs. Mattie Sue Deen, age 79, of Magee, MS who passed away July 26, 2010 at Hillcrest Nursing Home in Magee, MS. Rev. Carroll Rippy officiated. Interment followed at Phalti Cemetery. Pall bearers were Terry Mathis, Earl Deen, Billy Staples, James Parish, Reggie Magee and Freddie Hutton. Mattie Sue McInnis was born January 31, 1931 in Jefferson Davis County, MS. She was the daughter of Lawrence and Virginia Parish McInnis. She was married to the former Griffin L. Deen, Sr. She worked in retail sales with Northern Electric Company, a division of Sunbeam, in Mt. Olive for more than twenty years and later with Walmart. She was a member of Phalti Baptist Church. Mrs. Deen is survived by her son, Griffin Deen Jr. of Covington, LA; her daughter, Deborah Hall of Brandon, MS; two sisters, Frances McDaniel of Byram, MS and Dorothy Deen of Brooksville, FL; and three grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers and two sisters.
