Charles Edwin Jackson

Funeral services were held Sunday, June 6, 2010 at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel for Mr. Charles E. Jackson, age 72, of Bassfield, MS who died Friday, June 4, 2010 at his residence in Bassfield, MS. Bro. Tony Bagley and Bro. Ken Roberts officiated. Interment followed at Santee Methodist Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were Tom Jackson, David Jackson, Stevie Jackson, Wade Jackson, Nathan Jackson, and Eddie Joe Jackson. Charles Edwin Jackson was born November 19, 1937 in Bassfield, MS. A native of Jefferson Davis County, he was the son of Robert Lee Jackson and Mary Deen Jackson. He worked as a Forester for more than 20 years before retiring. He was a deacon and member of Santee Baptist Church. Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife, Carolyn Jackson of Bassfield, MS; a daughter, Tammy West of Bassfield, MS; three sons, Dean Jackson of Laurel, MS, Joe Jackson and Paul Jackson both of Bassfield, MS; two sisters, Mildred Graves and Margaret Bounds both of Sumrall, MS; ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
