Van Allen McNeese

Funeral services were held Thursday, May 20, 2010 at Bassfield Baptist Church in Bassfield, MS for Mr. Van Allen McNeese, age 71, of Bassfield who passed away May 18, 2010 at Jefferson Davis Community Hospital in Prentiss, MS. Rev. Ken Roberts officiated. Pall bearers were Joey Barrett, Scotty Daley, Bo McNeese, David Boyte, Ben K. Roberts and Chris Johnson. Mr. Van Allen McNeese was born February 25, 1939 in Jefferson Davis County. He was the son of William Iley McNeese and Mary Sullivan McNeese. He worked as an Engineer Technician with the Mississippi Department of Transportation for more than 40 years before retiring. He was a member of Bassfield Baptist Church. Mr. McNeese is survived by his wife, Patsy McNeese of Bassfield, MS; a daughter, Rachel Boyte (David) of Gulfport, MS; a son, Aaron McNeese of Sumrall, MS; a brother Keith McNeese of Pearl, MS and three grandchildren, William McNeese, Autumn Boyte and Riley McNeese. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Allen McNeese.
