Gladys B. Martin

Funeral services were held Monday, May 17, 2010 at Calvary Baptist Church in Silver Creek, MS for Mrs. Gladys B. Martin, age 83, of Silver Creek who passed away May 15, 2010 at her residence. Rev. Tim Robertson and Rev. John Price officiated. Pall bearers were Nicky Martin, Eddie Martin, Ricky Martin, Scott, Martin, Jimmy Lunceford and Tommy Trantham. Mrs. Gladys Brooks Martin was born December 6, 1926 in Clarksdale, MS. She was the daughter of James Brooks and Carrie Clearman Brooks. She was the owner and operator of Martin Grocery in Silver Creek for 20 years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mrs. Martin is survived by her sons, Brooks Martin of Brandon, MS, Larry Martin of Prentiss, MS and Marty Martin of Silver Creek, MS; one sister, Grace Lunceford of Germantown, TN; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Eugene Martin and three brothers.
