Percy E. Courtney

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 5, 2010 at Bassfield Baptist Church in Bassfield, MS for Mr. Percy E. Courtney, age 71, of Sumrall, MS who passed away May 1, 2010 at his residence. Interment followed at Bassfield Cemetery. Rev. Ken Roberts officiated. Pall bearers were Mark Courtney, Michael Courtney, Fred Courtney Jr., Sam Hathorn, David Baughman, Edwin Lipscomb, Jordan Page, Ted Ortiz, Jonathan Phillips and Darrell Phillips. Mr. Percy Edward Courtney was born December 18, 1938 in Bassfield, MS. He was the son of Marvin Courtney and Edna Davis Courtney. He was a Supervisor with Mississippi Tank Company and retired after forty years. He enjoyed farming and was a member of Bassfield Baptist Church. Mr. Courtney is survived by his wife, Patricia Courtney of Sumrall; a daughter, LaCreta Rapotec (Harvey) of Destin, FL; one sister, Edith Baughman of Bassfield; two brothers, Frank Courtney of Bassfield and Ken Courtney of Jackson, MS. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Fred Courtney, Sr.
