Edwin Louis Bass

Funeral services were held Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Saulters Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Prentiss, MS for Mr. Edwin Louis Bass, age 81, of Prentiss, MS who passed away April 25, 2010 at Jefferson Davis Community Hospital in Prentiss, MS. Interment followed at Whitesand Cemetery. Rev. Charles Burnham and Bro. Mitchell Roberts officiated. Pall bearers were Larue Mikell, George Hayman, Gerald Barr, Joe Bridges, John Slater and Carrolton Lee. Honorary pall bearers were retired employees of Southern Natural Gas. Mr. Edwin Louis Bass was born July 13, 1928 in Prentiss, MS. He was the son of Ray Vaughn Bass and Mary Jane Harvey Bass. He worked for Southern Natural Gas Company and retired as Assistant District Supervisor after thirty seven years. He was a veteran of the US Army. He was a member and deacon of Whitesand Baptist Church. Mr. Bass is survived by his wife, Barbara Bass of Prentiss, MS; a daughter, Barbara Jane Williamson of Hattiesburg, MS; a son, Carey Edwin Bass (Cindy) of Mize, MS; four grandchildren, Amy McQueen (Wayne), Alan Williamson, Candice Bass and Caleb Bass and one great grandchild, Valerie McQueen. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, J. W. Bass and three sisters, Inez Berry, Thelma Scanlon and Louise Rush.
