Graveside services were held Saturday, April 10, 2010 at Prentiss Cemetery for Mr. John Thomas Tingle, Jr. age 84 of Weston, TX who passed away April 4, 2010 at Baybrooke Village Care and Rehab Center in McKinney, TX. Rev. Randy Gardner officiated. Pall bearers were Jim Hulsey, Shayne Tingle, Jeff Saulters, John Saulters, Denny Daley and Dale Saulters. John Thomas Tingle, Jr. was born August 27, 1925 in Meridian, Mississippi. He was the son of John Thomas Tingle, Sr. and Bessie Graham Tingle. He graduated from Meridian High School and was a US Navy veteran. He served in the Pacific for two and a half years during WWII, then studied architecture at The University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, before being recalled into the Korean war. He was owner of Tingle Construction Co. in Richardson, Texas from 1954--1970, building hundreds of homes in and around Richardson. He served on the board of directors for the Richardson C of C and as a director for the Richardson Heights Bank and Trust. He was a former Division President of the North Dallas Richardson Division of the HAB Dallas. He retired to Weston, Texas in 1970 as a gentleman farmer-rancher. During his retirement, he continued to serve his community, including Collin County Courthouse relocation committee, Collin County Youth Park development committee, Celina Quarterback Club, and Gunter Rural Water Board. At the time of his passing he was Elder Emeritus of the First Christian Church of Weston. He enjoyed traveling, hunting, and fishing with his son. He loved a good campfire, telling a funny story, dining out with his wife, and he loved being with his family. He will be missed by all. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Wyndal Hathorn Tingle of Weston, TX; his son, Scott Tingle and wife, Kim Tingle of Celina, Texas; grandson John D. Tingle and wife, Alyssa St. John Tingle; and great grandchild Maggie Tingle; and grandson, Brady Tingle and wife, Leslie Parent Tingle. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Billy Tingle. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The First Christian Church of Weston, P.O. Box 7, Weston, Texas 75009.
