Edward Clarence (Eddie) Blackwell

Funeral services were held Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Friendship Baptist Church in Carson, MS for Mr. Edward Clarence Blackwell, age 78, of Slidell, LA who died Monday, March 22, 2010 at Slidell Memorial Hospital in Slidell, LA. Bro. Mike Mitchell officiated. Interment followed at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Michael Gardner, Brandon Gardner, Ronnie Palmisano, Matt Sartin, Michael Sartin, and Kevin Sartin. Eddie Blackwell was born July 7, 1931 in Jefferson Davis County, MS. He was the son of Luther Blackwell and Rosa Welch Blackwell. He was an Oyster Shucker and worked at Bozos Restaurant in Metairie, La for more than twenty years. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Mr. Blackwell is survived by his daughter Debbie Gardner of Slidell, LA; one brother, Marvin Blackwell of Carson, MS; two sisters, Dorothy Broome of Sumrall, MS and Mary Helen Ward of Carson, MS; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, and two sisters.
